I read an article which says that a new study from Brigham and Women's Hospital and Harvard Medical School found that:
" A diet rich in CAROTENOIDS (nutrients found in red-orange fruits and vegetable such as carrots, cantaloupe, and tomatoes) is associated with a lower risk of breast cancer".
It is especially so when it comes to reducing the aggressive types of cancers, which affect about 58,000 women every year.
Carotenoids are special because
- Some are actually precursors to vitamin A, which helps in the regulation of cell growth and death
- They are rich in antioxidants which help eliminate cancer-promoting free radicals.
- Enhances the immune system
Sooooo for your next meal, why don't you try adding more of these colorful fruits to your plate, and then your stomach? hee hee. :)
