What is your dharma?

Good afternoon and Happy Lunar New Year!

We have two public holidays, today and tomorrow. So I've decided to just really relax and thoroughly enjoy this free time to do what makes me happy. This brings me to what I started thinking about today when I woke up.

Have you ever wondered what your dharma is? Okay wait, what is this dharma dharma Alyssa is talking about? Dharma is Sanskrit for purpose, or.. let's look a little deeper, living YOUR.. truth. What is it that you are meant to do in this "life"? What is your purpose? No no,  I'm not referring to your career, I'm referring to the dharma which will bring about the fullest expression of your being. That which will allow you to live in fullness, enabling you to take the path most comfortable to your heart as you indulge in your passion (s). For some of us who are lucky enough, maybe you have made a career out of this. But for most people who are trying to discover their dharma, this may not be the case. In this lifetime, I personally feel that we have more than one dharma. Yeah, and why not? I think it changes, I think we have multiple dharmas during our lifetime. Right now, in my life, I think my dharma is to teach yoga and improve health communication to people. Why do I believe this? Well solely because the intent to go deeper and deeper in these areas, to expand the knowledge and learning within these fields seem almost effortless. In addition to this, the intrinsic and spontaneous will to spread this knowledge and share it is almost involuntary.

This morning, being a public holiday and all, I could have decided to sleep for hours, but having discovered and sunk deeper into my dharma, the motivation to wake up early, and seize the early hours of the day to learn and practice kicked in. So I changed into something comfy, started reading yoga books, and dived straight into practice. Leaving me happy. Leaving me contented.. and inspired to write this post.

Soooo....... I ask you this........ what is your dharma? It need not be a grandiose one, it can be humble yet impactful, what is your truth? xxxxxxxx aly
