What we were told:
1) Told Peppy is a Silky Terrier
2) Told his cough is over
3) Told to buy children's cough mixture for him
4) Told he is loosing fur only because he is still a puppy and shedding his baby fur
All of which are lies.
Upon a check up by the vet and another consultant, we found out he is malnourished and underweight.
If you are going to buy a pet, here are a few things to look out for which I have learned over the past few days
- Do background checks about the place you are buying you're pet from
- If you do decide on buying a pet, decipher the given price. If too low, or too high, question so.
- Find out the characteristics of the breed and possible health related susceptibilities
- Know yourself, are you ready to make such a major commitment?
- Apart from you, anybody else you can rely on to look after your new baby?
- Do you have enough money to support and sustain a healthy life for your pet?
- In Singapore's current environmental climate, take into consideration temperature and humidity levels, are there any skin allergies or problems you're pet may face when they become adults?
- Find a good vet, not someone who will rip you off telling you to buy this or that, find someone you can trust.
- Will your existing pet ( if you have one) be okay with a new friend in the house? How will he/she react?
- Lastly, I guess.. just be sure you can love your pet unconditionally. It's the easiest, most natural and priceless gift which is all they really need to be happy and perhaps healthy :)
