Do you normally have breakfast in the mornings? What do you usually have?
Bread?
Cereal?
Fruits?
All of the above?
Well, you know how everyone has always been telling us that breakfast is the most important meal of the day? Well guess what? Latest research finds that, well, maybe breakfast isn't the most important meal of the day. Thanks to growing popularity of Intermittent Fasting ( for example, eating an early dinner and eating let's say 18 hours later? A late brunch?) researchers have been trying to find out benefits of this latest trend and have found that the longer we stay away from food, the better our chances are of reducing inflammation in the body, reducing insulin resistance, and increasing our feel good happy moods and memory thanks to the body fueling itself with short chain fatty acids instead of glucose.
Hmmm.. it's funny you know, one minute coffee is amazing for our health, the next minute it's not, or one minute 8 hours of sleep is enough, the next minute actually only 4 is enough.. it's always so contradictory and opposing. How do you know what really works? Try listening to YOUR body.
My take on this latest research? Quite frankly.. I think fasting is fine, it is when done right, however, to adopt a permanent lifestyle like this, where little importance is placed on breakfast.. hmm doesn't sit well with me. Even if you aren't going to make it your main meal, just make sure you eat something.
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Whatever, EAT!
Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Whatever, EAT!
We are designed to eat, at least in this day and age we are. Our cells need energy. So let's just listen to the body and feed it with the food it wants. The stuff that doesn't make us feel bloated, nauseous, lethargic or uncomfortable after consumption, but instead, let's feed it the stuff that makes us feel energized, happy, satisfied and whole!

How'd you know Hippocrates?
