At home, I really feel lucky when I catch a glimpse of little birdies fluttering around the hibiscus and bluebell flowers in search of nectar. Mum and I just adore moments like these because it is a rarity to catch these birdies in the moment.
Hence, with the hope of being able to enjoy more moments such as these, I decided to make..... a bird feeder. haha! The end result:
What you need to make it:
- Reuse a Cover/Cap/Top of any container (As long as it is deep enough to put bird food/nuts/seeds in)
- String/Thread/ (Anything strong enough to prevent it from falling)
- Pair of Scissors + Bird food/trail mix stuff like nuts and seeds (in this case we put oats, pumpkin and sunflower seeds)
- First step is to make a hole on your cover/cap/top of container (we made 4 tiny holes on opposite ends) (+ shape)
2. Insert thread through two opposite ends first (we used a needle for this part cause inserting the thread through a tiny hole is quite annoyingly difficult) followed by the other two opp ends
3. Tie it and make sure it's secure
4. Time to put in your bird food , first we put in peanut butter as a base
5. Then sprinkle the sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds
6.Now it's time to hang it up and admire it :)
Now honestly, we sat down and waited quite a while to see if a birdy would come by. But no, nothing hahahah . All I did manage to see is a bee hover around the bird feeder, it even landed on the nuts for a bit and then.. well.. buzzed off..hahah. Hmm, there is still tomorrow though, hope we see a few birdies enjoying the seeds soon :)
