Tea Tree oil is a fantastic antiseptic, antibacterial and antifungal treatment. It's even been found to kill bacteria in vitro (in test tubes). The oil can be used on inflamed skin, wounds, to relieve congestion and even dandruff.
The first bottle above by Thursday Plantation costs less than 10 bucks, the ingredients are pure tea tree oil and limonene ( An extract from citrus juices). The only drawback though is unlike Burt's Bees roll on, you have to put the tea tree on your finger first, then apply it on the pimple. Sometimes when you do this and your hands are not clean you might just kinda add more bacteria on your face.. which is totally unnecessary. With the roll on form like that of Burt's Bees, this is avoided! However, the Burt's Bees herbal blemish stick above isn't made up of just two ingredients (sometimes the longer the list of ingredients, the scarier it sounds to me), its made up of 10 ingredients 99% organic), with tea tree oil listed as the second last. Other ingredients include, calendula flower oil (which helps in reducing redness of pimples) willowbark extract ( another anti-inflammatory agent which even has salicylic acid ( typically used in acne creams to promote cell renewal) and a few other botanical ingredients.
Overall, I just always feel better knowing what I put on my skin isn't full of unnatural ingredients. (I'm not saying organic products are all i use, but I do make a conscious effort to whenever possible..)
Try it out sometime, these oils might just work out to be whole lot cheaper than going for facials or buying expensive pimple creams full of weird and scary chemicals.
